NEW HIRSCHMANN POWERMICE INTRODUCED

New standards for network security and network availability

Hirschmann (a Belden Brand) recently introduced their new PowerMICE, the third generation of the Modular Industrial Communication Equipment family for mission-critical applications. This modular switch for DIN rail mounting now offers comprehensive network protection. The switch incorporates security mechanisms that regulate network access and protect against attacks. These include port security, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, ingress / egress ACL, sFlow, Storm Control, automatic Denial-of-Service prevention and port access control via 802.1x including multi-client authentication, Radius VLAN/policy assignment and guest/unauthenticated VLAN.

MOBOTIX recently launched the D14D, an update of the successful DualDome D14 camera on the market. It offers high image quality in poor lighting conditions thanks to two camera modules mounted parallel to each other with two lenses and 6.2 megapixel dual sensor technology. THE RSP-SMART, A COST-EFFECTIVE SWITCH FOR CHALLENGING SITUATIONS

Available from IAC is the new RSP-Smart, an inexpensive variant to the tried and tested family of RSP switches in its Hirschmann product range. Like the other devices in the family, this managed switch is able to withstand electrostatic discharges, magnetic fields and strong vibrations. It offers six Fast Ethernet Ports instead of eleven, and these are available for twisted pair cable (100 BASE-TX) or equipped with two/four SFP transceivers (100 BASE-FX).

IAC presents two new unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet SPIDER switches from its Hirschmann product range. The SPIDER II Giga EEC Pro, available with either five twisted pair ports (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) or two additional SFP slots for fiber optic transceivers (1000 BASE-SX/LX), supports Quality of Service compliant with IEEE 802.1D. This allows prioritization of data packages and means that the switch can be used for PROFINET applications in the mechanical engineering sector for example.

SECURE BACKBONE CONNECTIONS FOR ONBOARD TERMINAL EQUIPMENT.

 

Hirschmann (a Belden Brand) announced the release of their new managed IP67 switch, the OCTOPUS Train-BP. This switch, which is available with 8, 16 or 24 Fast Ethernet ports (10/100 BASE TX), has been especially developed for use in trains. It fulfils all the specific EMC and fire prevention requirements for rail vehicles and also has numerous redundancy mechanisms plus two uplink ports with bypass relays. This means that connections between neighbouring switches are maintained even when an OCTOPUS fails.

In the Mining industry, environmental conditions are extremely harsh. Video cameras are playing an increasingly important role in surveillance and management of mining systems and controls. Nowadays mines also use digital cameras to monitor the flow of products on conveyor belts, equipment surveillance in yards, and prepared blast sites. Cameras operating in these severe environmental conditions above and underground, must endure the destructive effects of dust, dirt, fine particles, dampness and corrosion, which threaten the camera’s performance.
