Eye-Cube3D
Digital Stereo DLP™-Rearprojection
Cube
|
With the new eyevis
3D rear-projection system the
successful eyevis cube series steps
into the third dimension. In a joint
venture with the 3D experts from
INFITEC in Ulm (Germany) we have
developed special projectors for the
high-quality and reliable display of
three-dimensional images. These
projectors achieve light efficiency,
perfect selective sharpness and
outstanding colour
uniformity.
The famous modular
and compact design of the eyevis cube
range enables building display
systems for three-dimensional stereo
applications of almost any size.
Thanks to the precise eye separation
of the INFITEC systems without
crosstalk and the high contrast of
the screens which are insensitive to
room light conditions, the eyevis 3D
cubes produce images with impressive
visual depth. The wide viewing angle
allows a perfect view on flicker-free
images to anyone standing in front of
the cubes.
The eyevis 3D cube uses two separate
projectors for the display of image pairs
and provides two separate DVI inputs for
the stereo images. Hence almost any 3D
software can be used as signal source
without the necessity for further
drivers.
The very short
processing time and the flicker-free
60Hz projection make the eyevis 3D
cube ready for real-time
applications. The cube has been
especially designed for VR simulators
in training or research environments,
but it can also be used in
representative areas like show rooms
or for immersive CAD workstations.
Thanks to its little space
requirement, thermal load and noise
emission, and not least thanks to its
modular design the eyevis 3D cube
offers totally new possibilities for
the planning and realisation of
flexible high-quality VR
systems.

ImmersiveCubes
ImmersiveCubes

With the new
immersiveCUBE-System, based on the
innovative and reliable DLP™
technology, eyevis provides a
high-quality display for the
employment in virtual-reality and
simulation areas as well as for
immersive jobs in the construction
and design branch. In the basic
version the system consists of three
rear-projection units, which are set
up around the viewer in an angle of
120°. Due to the use of special
projection screens with a wide
viewing angle a high uniformity of
brightness and colour is achieved on
whole projection area. The high
contrast and extraneous light
absorbing properties of these
projection screens enable a brilliant
representation of the projected image
and prevent the contrast loss by
mutual bloomings of the projection
screens. The life-time of the lamps
of the projection units, based on the
DLP™-technology by TEXAS INSTRUMENTS,
is indicated with 8.000 to 10.000
hours (manufacturer information
MTBF). The automatic brightness
control (DSC) compensates for
variations in brightness of the lamps
and therefore guarantees constant
brightness of the system over a long
period.
To guarantee highest
possible availability for continuous
24/7-operation, the elements are also
available with a double-lamp system
with automatic
lamp-swapping.
The basic version with
three 67” units offers a horizontal
and vertical viewing angle of 180°.
The very compact design of the system
leads to a space requirement of only
4.5 by 2.5 metres. This allows create
multi-functional applications, like
driving or flight simulators without
higher requirements concerning the
space of the installation. The very
robust, addible and stackable
projection elements form an optimal
platform for scalable or mobile
simulation systems.

OpenWARP
openWARP
|
The openWARP series
comprises a range of hardware and
software products especially designed
for high-end applications in Virtual
Reality, simulation, shows and
events. openWARP is a technology
developed in a joint-venture with the
Max-Planck-Institute for
Bio-Cybernetics in Tübingen
(Germany).
Combined with the
appropriate openWARP designer
software, openWARP offers totally new
and unexpected possibilities not only
for one-channel applications, but
also for multi-channel applications.
A main advantage of the system is
that you can use a standard projector
to correct the video or computer
signals geometrically before
displaying them on any screen form
and on any kind of screen surface.
These possibilities allow the
realisation of flexible, compact and
cost-effective solutions for
simulators and
projection-systems.
The software package
“openWARP designer” enables fast and
user-friendly corrections of
brightness and contrast, as well as
the comfortable calibration of
geometrical distortions for the
alignment of the images on domed and
curved screen surfaces. With openWARP
you can realise any image distortion
and in addition to that it is also
possible to perform colour and
brightness
corrections.
The real-time
version of openWARP offers the
possibility to use a new geometry
correction for input signal within a
frame. This possibility allows for
the use of the device for simulators
which require a dynamic image
distortion depending on the viewer’s
position, or in systems in which the
position of the screen is dynamically
changing. A further advantage for
stereo projections is the possibility
to adapt and to dynamically change
the stereo-depth-level of the imposed
key-images. In combination with a
head-tracking system you can realise
a viewer-optimised stereo-projection
for ergonomic work in VR
environments.
